Optic Cranberry + Art Nouveau Uranium Shade + Bronze Gilt Peg Kerosene Oil Lamp

ART NOUVEAU URANIUM SHADE + BRONZE GILT PEG K EROSENE OIL LAMP. This listing is for the complete lamp which is in excellent condition. All components are French with the exception of the shade.

The antique base/candlestick is split crack and repair free. It is extremely detailed and shows little signs of wear or use. The gilding has lost some of its brilliance but is still remarkably present. There is some loss but it is even and predominantly on the scalloped rim.

The candle cup is a period appropriate replacement as the original had been drilled for electrification. The moulded optical fount is in excellent condition.

It does have a number of minute air bubbles commensurate with glass of this age. It has good even gloss and shows little or no signs of wear/use.

The original collar is in excellent condition. The original burner is in excellent condition. The wick winder moves freely with no excess movement.

All chimney prongs are present and undamaged. The shade is in excellent condition. It shows little or no signs of wear and/or use. The top rim is immaculate whilst the bottom has a number of flakes and fleabites none of which impact functionality or aesthetics.

The shade fitter is a little too large to sit directly on the burner shade lip. I did not have a size appropriate gallery so I "dodgied" one up.

Although it is a little rough in places the face which is visible once the shade is in place is fine. This is perfectly adequate but could be swapped out for a size appropriate French gallery. This is a stunning quality period piece and would suit being displayed either in a grouping or individually. H 460mm 18 (top of shade).

D 135 mm 5 1/4 (base diagonal). 120 mm 4 3/4 (fount). Please view the photos carefully as they form a major part of the description. Items which need extra attention/care antiques, glass, delicate/fragile etc. I use recycled packaging as much as possible.
