French Cranberry Cut & Gilded + Brass & Marble Peg Kerosene Oil Lamp

FRENCH CRANBERRY ENGRAVED & GILDED +. This listing is for the complete lamp which is in excellent condition. All components with the exception of the column, which I have swapped out due to damage, are French.

The solid brass components of the base/candlestick are split, crack and repair free showing little or no signs of wear or use. The cream/off white marble foot is crack, break and chip free.

It shows negligible signs of wear/use and has a good even satin gloss. The internally ribbed, engraved and gilded fount is in very good to excellent condition. It does have a couple of tiny air bubbles commensurate with glass of this age. It also shows some signs of wear/use, predominantly to the top face, by way of fine scratches and an occasional tiny scuff.

These are difficult to pick with everything which is going on with this fount. The gilding shows some loss to the gilt where the top surface meets the sides due to cleaning. The collar and burner are replacements manufactured by Gaudard who have been making these burners since 1902.

H 470mm 18 1/2 (with chimney). Please view the photos carefully as they form a major part of the description. Items which need extra attention/care antiques, glass, delicate/fragile etc.

I use recycled packaging as much as possible. Items can be collected from KYNETON 3444.
