BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN INTO THE DESCRIPTION AND LOOK ABOVE AND BELOW FOR MORE PHOTOS A very nice, early Firefly miniature oil lamp. These little 1877 patent lamps were the very first miniature oil lamps made. And the Bristol Brass and Clock Company.

They made all of the famous Firefly lamps circa 1877-80. A small glass font with "Fire Fly" and nine stars embossed at the center, along with other designs embossed around the lower portion near the base, and a flower design on the bottom of the font.

It has a Taplin-Brown collar with 5/8 threads and fitted with a Firefly string wick burner, which has a flower design on the thumbwheel. The chimney shade is made of milk glass with a flange or lipped base, which is fitted into the prongs of the Firefly burner.

This little lamp is just under 2" tall to the top of the collar, and 4" tall to the top of the shade, 7/8 base diameter. No chips or cracks to the font, burner is in great shape and good working condition, thumbwheel turns freely.
